first night of La Merce by Victoria

Tonight we got to watch a giant puppet show that comes out every year for this special occasion. They call these puppets Gegants. The Gegants made you feel so tiny because they really were like giants. The craftsmanship of the puppets was amazing in its size. Real people were working the puppets from the inside.
Some of the puppets had sparklers in their mouths to make them look like they were breathing fire. When the sparklers burnt to the bottom, they exploded and everyone jumped out of their skin. From the looks of things, sparklers and fireworks are a big part of this 4 day festival.
There were so many people out when we were headed home. The crowd kept growing. 
Typical Barcelona we think we are out late but the party is just getting started.

    Unknown is Maryana! We are trying to figure out all the in's and out's of the blogging/email/holt/khan/google world! Hopefully we are ironing out all the kinks and will be as computer savvy as you in know time! I told everyone about you sneaking the Robust Vocabulary words into your blog posts. They are excited! The first person to spot one and comment on it by using it again in their comment on your post, doesn't have to write that sentence out in their books! We can't wait! We miss you tons! We should Skype soon - when you are not out partying, visiting the zoo, eating crepes.....

    Hola Vic! I thought the puppets sounded and looked so cool! i totally wish i was there with you. i think the puppets would be a brilliant sight to see when the fire crackers go off. i have a question. Is this you writing or are you just signing your name . Either way the writing is great!

    Wow, your mom is super mean. She makes you stay out late, go to the zoo (under protest), shop at bakeries, and have fireworks sprayed in your face! I will be in contact with child protective services :)
